Apart from the fact it'll be released around the same time as the new Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, Warner have revealed nothing else about the film's accompanying videogame, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters.

"Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters gives players the chance to experience the world of the Green Lantern mythology in an interactive way, going beyond the events of the film and comic books," said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "The game is the first to centre around DC Comics' Green Lantern franchise and we're excited to give fans the opportunity to experience the power of the ring with engaging gameplay."

The game will be made available for essentially all platforms barring PC at this stage, with console dev being handled by Double Helix Games (G.I. Joe, Front Mission Evolved).

Will this be a worthy addition to Warner's growing stable of awesome games? Fingers crossed.

I'm not so sold - G.I. Joe was a bit of a joke... but then I'm not even that sold on the movie TBH - Ryan Reynolds doesn't seem like a good fit

I was bitterly disappointed when they canned the movie the first time round cause Nicholas cage was having a hissy, but now it will be hear soon... SWEET!

I actually would prefer Nick Cage, because I don't want the Green Latern to be being a smart ass cocky one line deliverator, which is all I've ever seen Reynolds do. If they can rein that s*** in and make him act like a real person and not Every Other Character He's Ever Played, then it could be ok
